Real life

Due to amazingly cool developments with my job, I have had next to no time at all for painting. Or blogging for that matter.

What I have had time for is buying stuff. :) I bought a ton of new Necrons, Dark Vengeance (I built all the models over the one spare weekend I had), and I've got into Dust Tactics/Warfare (not to play or paint, just to read the rules and marvel at the walker designs).

Oh, and all the Warhammer scenery they've been bringing out too. Got that. And I will be getting the Wall Of Martyrs when that arrives. And the Forge World city boards beckon me.

My spare room looks like a Games Workshop store backroom.

The grey tide is rising again, I must find time to fight it.

Tyranids second wave

Sweet Jeebus the new Tervigon/Tyrannofex kit looks good! And the winged Hive Tyrant! I would almost say it's worth the wait, the the wait was oh so long.

I've been spending the week filling up my shopping cart at various online stores, trying out various combinations of SPENDING ALL MY MONEY.

At the moment it looks like this (at the minimum):

1 x Winged Hive Tyrant
1 x Swarmlord
1 x Tyrannofex
3 x Tervigons

Plus a bunch of extra Termagant boxes (the sets-of-5 are the best value), since I only have 34.

Ouch! Oh self control, why hast thou forsaken me?

White Dwarf first with news shock!

So I woke up on Saturday morning and my White Dwarf had arrived. And believe it or don't, I hadn't read anything about the new LotR books or models on the internet before I saw the pictures for the first time on paper!!!

It actually felt pretty good.

Seeing the pictures as GW meant them to be seen, without being prefaced by anti-GW (or more specifically, anti-GW's-LotR-range) comments, I felt some of the wonder that I only used to experience before the internet got popular.

I know this is probably a one-off, they slipped it through the leakers because it's only LotR, but it was a nice change.

HOWEVER... in this month's Standard Bearer, Jervis Johnson talks for a whole page about tape measures. I guess he must have done that for a bet.
